RxMeds fills both, so your prescriptions don't end up split between two pharmacies, two accounts and two delivery schedules. Routine prescriptions — maintenance medications, antibiotics, everyday refills — are filled the same day and delivered free locally, with most insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare accepted. Specialty medications take more: prior authorization with your prescriber, cold-chain shipping, help with injections and ongoing follow-up from a team that knows your case. You get all of it in one place, with the same co-pay and no lines.
A medication is usually specialty when it:
- Treats a rare, complex or chronic condition
- Needs special storage, like refrigeration
- Must be injected or infused
- Requires prior authorization to fill
- Must be filled by a specialty pharmacy based on your insurance plan
